School Food Service

ABOUT OUR SCHOOL FOOD SERVICE DEPARTMENTThe School Food Service Department in the Iberville Parish School System provides nutritious meals to students and staff, believing that good nutrition is crucial for learning.  It is our duty to provide healthy meals in a safe and clean environment.  We participate in the Community Eligibility Program (CEP), which allows every student to receive one FREE breakfast and lunch every day.

This department serves over 6,000 meals daily in 10 sites across the district to students in grades PK - 12.   Students in our PK program receive one FREE snack every day.   Employees have the opportunity to purchase a breakfast and/or lunch at a reduced cost which is subsidized by the School District.   Dorseyville Elementary and North Iberville Elementary participate in the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program.  This is a free program encouraging students to eat fresh fruits and vegetables.  The students are offered fresh fruits and/or vegetables after lunch is served.

Additional food and extra meals are available to purchase at a minimal cost.

We believe that students who eat our school meals are exposed to healthy eating habits through daily servings of milk, fruits and vegetables, whole-grain products, and portion control for maintaining a healthy body weight.

Let’s establish a new tradition with good nutrition.
