The school district recognizes a significant amount of learning occurs in the classroom. One criterion of a student’s success in school is regular and punctual attendance. Frequent absences may lead to poor academic work, lack of social development, and possible academic failure. Regular attendance is of utmost importance for school interest, social adjustment, and academic achievement.

Program expectations:

• The Parent must attend a truancy class conducted by a representative of the Iberville Parish School Board 

• The parent is assessed a $50.00 sign-up fee – CASH (Exact Amount) or MONEY ORDERS ONLY.

• The Child Welfare and Attendance Department must verify the successful completion of the T.I.P.

• All requirements must be completed within 30 days following the agreement with the Child. Welfare & Attendance Office.

• This program is a one-time opportunity offered to all truancy cases.  Additional truancy referrals will result in a court appearance.
