RESIGNATION INFORMATION

When choosing a resignation date, please be aware that all monies owed to you will be paid in a lump sum on your final paycheck.  Federal and state taxes will be calculated on this lump sum amount which may result in a greater percentage of tax being withheld.

In addition, your insurance benefits will end on the last day of the month in which you resign your position.

EXAMPLE FOR A 9, 10, 10.5 or 11 MONTH EMPLOYEE

RESIGNATION DATE OF MAY 31 – Final paycheck will include monies owed for summer checks (June and July).  All insurance coverage (health, dental and life) ends on May 31.

RESIGNATION DATE OF JULY 10 – Will receive checks on June and July pay dates.  Insurance coverage (health, dental and life) ends on July 31.

 

 

Experience Verification Guidelines - Support/Non Certificated Employees

Applications are available on EMPLOYEE PORTAL or under EMPLOYEE FORMS listed above.

 

Existing IPSB Employees 

  • This is a one-time verification period to apply for previous external experience service credit.

  • Experience credit is not retroactive. It will be effective with the 2022-2023 fiscal year.

  • Applications and letters of verification must be received no later than October 1, 2022.

  • Experience credit may only be applied to the current position being held and prior external experience must be equivalent to the position currently held in IPSB.

 

New Hires

  • Experience credit must be submitted within the first 3 months (90 days) of date of employment. It is the employee's responsibility to ensure all proper documentation is submitted within this 90-day timeframe.

  • Previous years of external experience must be verified directly by the previous employer(s) and emailed directly to the IPSB Human Resources Department by the previous employer.  

  • During your first year of employment with the Iberville Parish School Board, your salary will be adjusted as your previous years are verified based on experience equivalent to IPSB job responsibilities. 

  • We are prohibited, by Article VII, Section 14 of the 1974 Louisiana Constitution from paying for unverified degrees or non-equivalent years of experience.

  • June 1st of each fiscal year is the final deadline for issuing payment of verified external experience credit. Any verification received after June 1st will be applied to the following fiscal year.
