Louisiana INTECH is an intensively
structured, Staff Development Program designed to implement the
INtegration of TECHnology for classroom teachers. LA INTECH
provides many examples of effective technology-based strategies that support and
enhance curriculum and can provide a catalyst for fundamental
change in overall teaching and learning processes. One of the
strengths of the program is peer-instructor modeling of technology-connected
lessons. INTECH teams of teachers learn basic technology skills while
focusing on project-based activities that are based on the Louisiana
Content Standards.
Five critical components characterize
this integrated training approach:
(1) classroom management techniques
(2) new designs for learning
(3) best pedagogical practices
(4) curriculum standards
(5) modern technology skills
The Iberville Parish Technology Center
offers INTECH and INTECH 2 Science training for educators in grades K-12.
These trainings include 56 hours (7 days) of training designed
to aide teachers in using technology as a teaching tool.
